On Sunday, September 25, 2022. Linda Charlene Garrett Barnes, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away at age sixty-nine. Linda was born on March 6, 1953, in Vernon, Texas to Lloyd and Lavern Garrett. She graduated from Longview High School and attended Kilgore College. Linda moved back to Vernon in the early 1970s with her family where she married and had two children. In Vernon, she worked as a homemaker, as well as "Center South" and Texoma Healthcare. In 2000 she moved to Pennsylvania Where she started a new career as an optical assistant at Walmart. She continued working at Walmart in various Vision Centers for almost 20 years until her retirement. Linda moved back to Texas after several years in Pennsylvania to be closer to family and remained in Texas until her death. Linda was known both for her fiery red hair and personality to match. She loved decorating for the holidays, most of all Christmas. The family joke was "don't stand still too long or you'll get decorated too!" Her sense of humor and love for family and friends will be missed. Linda is survived by her daughter Cassie Smith and husband Travis of Hillsboro, grandchildren Hannah Smith and Joshua Smith of Hillsboro, brother Charles Garrett and wife Debbie of Tyler, nephews Kristofer Garrett and wife Jenifer of Decatur, Joshua Garrett of Tyler, numerous great nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends. She is preceded in death by her son Kelly Ryan Barnes, granddaughter Bethany Sage Smith, parents Lloyd & LaVern Garrett, maternal grandparents J.T. & Claudia Parks and paternal grandparents Sam & Mable Garrett
